ACF Initial Certification Information
The Initial Certification process is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Step 1: Fill out an Initial Certification Application for the
particular level
you are interested in.
Step 2: Collect the necessary documentation required for your particular level:
- Educational documents
may be copies of diplomas, transcripts, certificates of completion
(including date and hours), etc.
- Experience documentation may be letters from past or present employers (on company letterhead), pay stubs, tax information, letters from business attorneys or Certified Public Accountants (CPA), etc.
- Certificates of completion for 30-hour courses in:
- Food Safety and Sanitation
- Nutrition
- Culinary Supervisory Management
You can take these required courses at any of the following locations:
Step 3: Take the exams:
- The written exam (70% or better) may be taken at any LaserGrade location.
- The practical exam (75% or better) may be taken at any Train-the-Trainer seminar or approved ACF test site.
