ACF Kona-Kohala Chefs de Cuisine, Inc. Receives 2008 American
Culinary Federation Chef & Child Committee Little Oscar Award
St. Augustine, Fla., April 22, 2008 -
Members of the American Culinary
Federation (ACF) Kona-Kohala Chefs de Cuisine, Inc. in
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii,
received the 2008 ACF Chef & Child Committee Little Oscar
Award at the
2008 ACF Western Regional Conference held at the Hilton Salt
Lake City
Center, Salt Lake City, April 19-21.
The Little Oscar Award recognizes a chapter that has put forth
an exceptional
effort to advance the mission of the ACF Chef & Child
Committee in its
fight against childhood hunger and malnutrition. As this year's
Western
Region recipient, ACF Kona-Kohala Chefs de Cuisine, Inc. is a
candidate
to receive the national 2008 Chef & Child Little Oscar Award
that will
be presented at ACF's National Convention in Las Vegas, July
14-17.
Chosen for its unique combination of natural recreation and
metropolitan
attractions, Salt Lake City was the location of the 2008 ACF
Western Regional
Conference hosted by ACF Beehive Chefs Chapter, Inc. Bringing
more than
400 chefs, cooks and foodservice professionals to the city, the
conference
provided attendees with numerous opportunities to advance their
professional
development and enhance their culinary skills through
informative business
seminars, forums, clinics and cutting-edge demonstrations. In
addition,
the conference offered participants the opportunity to learn
about the
latest cooking trends and techniques.
