The Summit at Midwest Culinary Institute Receives Four-Star Rating
from the Cincinnati Enquirer
St. Augustine, Fla., July 8, 2008—The
Summit at Midwest Culinary Institute, Cincinnati, received a four-star,
“excellent” rating by Cincinnati Enquirer food
critic Polly Campbell, June 26.
A staff of Midwest Culinary Institute students and two full-time
employees, Matt Winterrowd, chef, and Donna Schmitt, manager, run the
Summit, which opened in May. In Campbell’s restaurant review, she
described her dining experience and recommended the gnocchi, hamachi,
duck and strawberry basil dessert, and the chilled pea soup, gnocchi,
asparagus on grilled bread, morels with idiazabal cheese and carnaroli
risotto with artichoke for vegetarian diners. She rated the
restaurant’s sound level as “easy to converse.”
“It is an honor to receive such recognition. This makes us one
of nine four-star restaurants in Cincinnati, other restaurants include
Daveed’s, HUGO restaurant, BOCA, Jean-Robert at Pigall’s,
Orchids at Palm Court and Trio,” said John Kinsella, CMC, CCE,
WGMC, AAC, ACF national president and culinary educator at Midwest
Culinary Institute. “The four-star rating is a true representation
of the skill of our culinary students, and is a positive reflection on
the staff at Midwest Culinary Institute.”
The Summit at Midwest Culinary Institute is open 5:30–9:30 p.m.
