Press Release
Olivier Andreini, CMC, Approved as an American Culinary Federation
Culinary Competition Judge
St. Augustine, Fla., October 22,
2009—The American Culinary Federation (ACF) Culinary
Competition Committee announced this month that Olivier Andreini, CMC,
executive chef, Merion Cricket Club, Haverford, Pa., has been approved
to be a culinary competition judge throughout the U.S.
The ACF-approved culinary judge program was established to provide a
nationwide pool of qualified judges for culinary competitions.
Appointment as an ACF culinary judge confirms that an individual has
attained the highest level of trust, professionalism, respect and
ethical confidence from his/her peers. To be considered for a judge,
chefs must be ACF members; certified at the Certified Sous Chef™
(CSC™) or Certified Working Pastry Chef™ (CWPC™) level
or higher; have won three gold medals in culinary competitions during
the last 10 years; and be approved for training by the Culinary
Competition Committee chair.
After these prerequisites are established, candidates must apprentice
a minimum of five ACF-approved culinary competitions and attend a
training seminar. Then, the committee reviews candidates and either
approves or recommends them for additional training.
As an ACF-approved culinary judge, Andreini will travel to
competitions in the area and throughout the country. Andreini is a
member of ACF National Chapter.
