ACF Calls for 2005 Chef Awards Nominations
St. Augustine, Fla., September 7,
2004—The American Culinary Federation, Inc. (ACF), seeks
nominations for its 2005 Chef of the Year and Pastry Chef of the Year
Awards.
ACF’s 43rd-annual Chef of the Year Award naming the
U.S.A.’s Chef of the Year™ for 2005 is open to U.S. chefs
who hold the title of sous chef or higher in select industry segments.
ACF’s second-annual Pastry Chef of the Year Award is open to U.S.
chefs who hold the title of pastry cook or higher in select industry
segments. Nominations for either award must be made by an ACF member or
chapter. Nominees must be U.S. citizens or hold permanent resident green
cards. Membership in ACF is not a requirement for either award.
For either award, four regional winners, selected by a panel of
judges based on submitted applications, will be named next spring. The
national titles will be determined by cook-offs at ACF’s 2005
National Convention in San Antonio, Texas, July 30–Aug. 3. Winners
of each cook-off will receive a cash prize of $5,000 and a customized
trophy.
