Jonathan Moosmiller, CCC, Named
ACF Culinary National Team USA Sous Chef
St. Augustine, Fla., May 4, 2007-Jonathan Moosmiller, certified chef de cuisine (CCC), senior chef at Westchester Country Club, Rye, N.Y., has been named ACF Culinary National Team USA sous chef. ACF Culinary National Team USA is the official representative team for the United States in major national and international culinary competitions.
Moosmiller will support the national team at the International Culinary Exhibition (IKA)-more commonly know as the "culinary Olympics"-in Erfurt, Germany, in October 2008.
A member of ACF National Chapter, Moosmiller graduated in 1998 from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I., where he received an associate of applied science degree in culinary arts. After graduation, he apprenticed at Le Moulin De Mougins in France. Moosmiller assisted ACF Culinary Team USA as sous chef in Basel, Switzerland, at the 2005 Salon Culinarie Mondial, one of the most important international culinary-arts competitions, held every six years. The team took home two gold medals in the cold and hot food portions of the event.
"Jonathan has always put forth an exceptional effort in the kitchen," says Edward Leonard, certified master chef (CMC), American Academy of Chefs (AAC), ACF Culinary National Team USA manager and executive chef at Westchester Country Club. "His training and expertise will no doubt be a significant asset to the team as we strive to cook our way to the title of best in the world."
ACF Culinary National Team USA is a top contender on the world culinary stage. The team placed fifth overall and won two gold medals at the EXPOGAST 2006 Culinary World Cup international culinary competition in Luxembourg, November 18-22, 2006.
