President’s e-News - July 8, 2011
Dear Chef:
Howdy Partners!
As the
ACF Sheriff, I would like to thank you for registering for the 2011 ACF
National Convention. With an increase in the number of registrants
this year, I am looking forward to a great event! Everything is bigger
and better in Texas and this year’s convention will not be a
disappointment! Load up your saddles, pack your boots and
spurs—ACF is taking over the Gaylord Texan!
I promise it’ll be a good ol’ time in grand ol’
Texas! Here’s some boot-scootin’, unforgettable events you
won’t want to miss.
Welcome Hospitality Suite
Friday, July 22, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Suite 5161
When y’all arrive at the Gaylord Texan on Friday, I invite you
over to my neck of the woods for tasty, Texan treats. Kick off your
boots, hang up your hat, and mix ’n’ mingle with fellow
members while you wait for you room to be ready. Heck, come even if your
room is ready! Courtesy of the Texas Chefs Association. Snacks and
beverages are on me!
Student Culinarian Invitational Fundraising Reception
Saturday, July 23, 7:00 p.m.
There are some pretty talented student culinarians ’round here!
Don’t miss this bigger-than-Texas-sized reception hosted by
students! Six teams of youngin’s from across the Americas (that
includes our Canadian pardners) will prepare specialty foods from their
region! By purchasing a ticket to this event you’re helpin’
the ACF teams raise funds to attend the 2012 World Association of Chefs
Societies Congress in South Korea. Separate registration required,
purchase online or on-site at convention.
Volunteer Opportunity: Chefs Outreach to the Community
Friday, July 22
As chefs, y’all know the importance of good nutrition, and
Community Service. Lend a big, Texan, helping hand to the local Dallas
community and share all you know about eatin’ right. Learn how you
can make a difference and sign up to volunteer today!
Y’all take care now,
Sheriff Ty
